The narrative has to change. I refuse to continue to allow politicians and corporate leaders to say it’s the fault of teachers. We can attempt to fix inequality, and teachers will be a part of that conversation, albeit minimally.”
It’s letters like this that infuriate me with the current system. You cannot use standardized tests for teacher evaluations.
Here is a petition that was started by Dr. Joseph Rella, a Superintendent on Long Island. I am so happy more administrators are finding their voice and speaking out against the testing craze and how unfair it to students and teachers.
Scores have been released and we will be getting our own “scores”. Just remember that these numbers do not truly reflect our teaching or students learning. But people are mad and they are speaking up. I am hopeful that change will come! I have a few links below that are worth your time!
